I leave this little pack in my handbag at all times. When I wear a smoky eye, after a few hours my lower lashline and corners of my eyes are always darkly smudged. These cotton swabs are perfect for swiping away any eyeliner or mascara that has wandered without ruining the rest of my makeup. The makeup remover itself is very gentle and effective. You get many swabs for only five dollars, so I never mind handing one to the girls scrubbing their run mascara in restrooms after concerts.

Okay, so I tried these out, and they work okay. Waterproof mascara is still a bugger, though. They are good for your travel bag because you can take them in your carry-on without having to hassle with airport security, but otherwise I think they are overpriced.

You only get a few swabs– 24, to be exact. So not really even a month’s supply– even less than that if you use 1-2 swabs every time you do your make-up, or take it off (I use more than 1 swab). And honestly, for the same price, you can buy a whole box of 500 cotton swabs and a little tub of Vaseline, which actually removes eye-makeup better and is probably safer for the eyes (doctors actually use white petroleum to lubricate patient’s eyes during surgery). I also feel that Vaseline is the only thing that takes off waterproof mascara “raccoon marks”.

I just think that these are okay if you are going on a trip, but other than that, too overpriced for what you are actually getting.

This product came in handy on a recent vacation we took to Florida. With all the airline restrictions on liquid items, I was able to avoid taking a bottle of eye make-up remover and just take the touch-ups.

  4. These are great if you don’t like to spend a lot of time doing makeup in the morning. Comparable products (I think by Modelco) cost a lot more! If you use waterproof mascara, they’re wonderful at quickly cleaning up any little mistakes after application. And if you do makeup away from home or on-the-go (like at stoplights – bad idea but so many of us end up doing it there) they’re perfect to have in your purse. I just wish you could get more of them per pack because I go through them like water!

I mainly use it for touch ups. I keep a pack in my purse for when I’m out. It’s easy & convenient to pull one out, use it, & throw it away. It does work well for eyeliner & mascara removal. It’s just not convenient for all-over eye make-up removal, though.
