I was excited about this product until I tried it. Does not feel as good as the original and it does not help to keep the Bare Escentuals foundation on as well as the original. Wasted my money on this product. LOVE all their other products!!! Been a fan for years, Its all that I use!

I’ve been using the regular Primer in the winter but my skin is so oily in the warmer months that I have to use oil absorption papers so I decided to try the Oil Control Primer for the warmer weather (I live in Texas). I really like the product and will continue to switch with the seasons. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the Oil Control product doesn’t go on as silky smooth.

I TRIED THIS OIL CONTROL PRIMER FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS WEEKEND. NEW JERSEY HAD TEMPERATURES AS HIGH AS 101 DEGREES, AND I WAS IN A FORMAL WEDDING THAT EVENING. I GOT A SAMPLE FROM SEPHORA’S TO TRY AND WHAT BETTER TIME TO TRY IT WHEN THE WEATHER WAS HOT, HOT, HOT AND HUMID. IN A SIX HOUR PERIOD, I ONLY HAD TO USE MY MINERAL VEIL ONCE!!! AND MY BARE ESSENTIALS MAKEUP LOOKED FLAWLESS. WHEN I WENT TO TOUCH UP THAT ONE TIME, I THOUGHT THAT WHEN I LOOKED INTO THE MIRROR, I WOULD SEE SHINE, SHINE AND MORE SHINE FROM MY EXTREMELY OILY SKIN. MY MAKEUP STILL LOOKED PERFECT AND I ONLY USED THE MINERAL VEIL FOR THE COOLING EFFECT. THE NEXT DAY, I WENT TO SEPHORA’S AND PURCHASED TWO BOTTLES—ONE FOR MY HOME AND ONE FOR MY TRAVEL BAG. THIS IS THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD—OOPS!!!—SINCE BARE MINERALS FOUNDATION. IT APPLIED LIKE CLEAR GEL, MY SKIN ABSORBED IT RIGHT AWAY AND THE MAKEUP APPLIED BEAUTIFULLY.

Being someone who has oily combination skin, I was so excited to see this new product. After reading mixed reviews on Sephora, I still decided to try it. I loved the original Prime Time but I was very disappointed with this. First, lets start with the texture. Compared to the original, this Prime Time seems to be not as thick and is a bit gritty. How does it apply on the face? The original Prime Time goes on smooth like butter. With the new product I couldn’t even smooth it on my face. Why? Because as soon as I put it on my skin started to peel! It was very annoying. The only way I found to apply it better was to pat it on my face but even then there was still some peeling. Makeup application? If you think this will help your minerals to go on smoothly, don’t hold your breath. I had to put more moisturizer on just to make my skin smoother for the makeup to go on better. Oil control? It *might* have controlled oil slightly better than the original but it was no big difference. After a couple of tries with this primer I went back to the original. It made me realize just how bad the new stuff was. My makeup went on easily and flawlessly. Unless they change the formulation of the new stuff, I won’t be repurchasing.
